This Week's Astrology

At 21 weeks pregnant, I have found myself contemplating a great deal about what wisdom I wish to impart on my future child, and what kind of life I hope for them. It occurred to me the other evening that a life full of joy, full of love, full of curiosity is something I desire most of all. And, that it is my most heartfelt dream for my child to experience this and so much more.

The perplexing bit is that, with great joy comes great sorrow. They are a shared space, quite often inseparable in their message. One corresponds with the other, light and dark merge together. It’s just the way life goes - anyone and everyone who has visited this place, comes to ultimately know this truth. That was an illuminating, loaded thought - one that retraces the steps, I have personally taken thus far. Then I think to myself, I wish for a brave and resilient child, one who will come to know (and honour) both - joy and pain. That to me, symbolises a life lived, dwelled in, continued and most of all embraced. And, it made me hope that whoever reads this - when going through whatever emotions, remembers it’s all a part of the tapestry of life. There is no light without dark. Leave no stone unturned in your journey.

But, back to the topic at hand - Astrology. It’s a busy week; Mercury enters Pisces today, where it will stay until April 3rd. It’s natural to feel intensely emotional, visual and intuitive. Our communication is a bit spaced out with this transit, we can say one thing while feeling something completely different. And, because Pisces is indirect and such a chameleon, we may take on other peoples style without meaning too. The Aries Moon straightens the mood out, just a little - just enough for us to carry out our Monday tasks. Tomorrow, the Sun sextiles Pluto which can be very powerful indeed. The energy is magnetic, especially as the day advances and the Moon aligns with Uranus (as they merge in Taurus). A state of 'impermanence' is this week's theme - get used to trial and error. That’s all it ever is.

And, if like me, you’ve got much on your mind, remember this quote by Haruki Murakami: “Sometimes fate is like a small sandstorm that keeps changing directions. You change direction but the sandstorm chases you. You turn again, but the storm adjusts. Over and over you play this out, like some ominous dance with death just before dawn. Why? Because this storm isn't something that blew in from far away, something that has nothing to do with you. This storm is you. Something inside of you. So all you can do is give in to it, step right inside the storm, closing your eyes and plugging up your ears so the sand doesn't get in, and walk through it, step by step. There's no sun there, no moon, no direction, no sense of time. Just fine white sand swirling up into the sky like pulverised bones. That's the kind of sandstorm you need to imagine. And you really will have to make it through that violent, metaphysical, symbolic storm. No matter how metaphysical or symbolic it might be, make no mistake about it: it will cut through flesh like a thousand razor blades. People will bleed there, and you will bleed too. Hot, red blood. You'll catch that blood in your hands, your own blood and the blood of others.”

May your cup runneth over..

With love,

Srna

Aries: March 21 - April 19

An avalanche of emotion may have gripped you over the weekend, Aries. Even if you weren’t in the mood to process some very real feelings - it’s possible you were ‘cornered’ into doing so. Mercury has entered Pisces and your 12th house of quiet, where it will remain until early April. Restrictions come into place with the 12th house, but only self-imposed ones - like laying low and prioritising personal care, until you get the energy back to be social. With the Sun etching closer to your sign also, you may be taking a moment to release the past, so that you can be better focused on the new year ahead. A waxing Aries Moon starts the week off, helping you create a set of circumstances that really favours you above all else.

Taurus: April 20 - May 20

You accept the metaphor trying to present itself in your life, Taurus. And, when you do, you are rewarded. Adapting isn’t your most natural trait, but since the year begun, you’ve taken a very mature approach in dealing with personal limitations and restrictions. Mercury in Pisces can contribute to feelings of socialising and connection, as it shifts into the 11th house of friendship today. Until April 3rd, you’re on the go, being stimulated by different people for different reasons. Just one individual won’t cut it, you need friends, family and colleagues around you.

Gemini: May 21 - June 20

Building strong foundations takes focused effort, Gemini. And, it’s a choice to - one you make every day when you wake up. Whether it be with a lover, a friend or a distant family member, that realisation is something you may need to be reminded of again this week. The Aries Moon tonight is expressive and emotive, helping you make some intuitive decisions. Your thinking process is a whole lot more visual during Pisces season, and it’s no surprise then, that today Pisces has entered your ruler, Mercury - furthering this novelty. This transit initiates a feeling of being away from the ‘real world’; dream while you can.

Cancer: June 21 - July 22

There is a certain harmony to your days, Cancer. On a large scale, you’ve taken time to notice the shifts that took place (in 2020) and changed who you are at your core. The peace within also has to do with sister-sign Pisces, as your shared energies stimulate a deeper, braver look into things that once made no sense or hurt too much. As Mercury has now also joined the Sun, Neptune and Venus in Pisces - you feel a serene sense of optimism, especially by being there for close friends who appear to be struggling. Until April 3rd, you will continue to learn, share and resonate with the more ‘profound’ side of life.

Leo: July 23 - August 22

Chance encounters are orchestrated by something bigger than us, and that is why they don’t occur every regular day, Leo. Things that seem ‘magical’ keep us going in a sense, because they remind us that maybe life does indeed have its own set plan for us. You, in particular are going through an unusual cycle in which many strange things are occurring - from tangible emotions you haven’t felt before, to suppressed memories bubbling to the surface. The energies are ripe with possibility, and this piques your interest in something new. The Moon in fellow fire sign, Aries today, boosts your confidence just enough so that you initiate an intimate conversation.

VirgoAugust 23 - September 22

At times, during Pisces season especially, it can feel difficult to differentiate between reality and the workings of the heart, Virgo. Your current position is one you have total confidence in, or perhaps, it’s your partner you hold in high regard most of all. Regardless, something in your veins urges you to take love and friendship seriously. The shift Mercury makes into Pisces today aligns with this realisation. And, the dense water energy carries you through another week of life. Until April 3rd, you will feel pulled and pushed in different directions, by your opposing sign, Pisces, in your natural ruler, Mercury. It’s best not to judge the outcome, go where it takes you.

LibraSeptember 23 - October 22

Everyone feels the ‘hand of fate’ in their own way, Libra. And what you’re experiencing now, is your special version of it. This deja- vu has much to do with the North Node in Gemini and the South Node in Sagittarius. Who are both influencing you in your 3rd and 9th houses respectively, changing how you communicate, think, share and learn. It’s about interaction and connection, on a much deeper level - an intrinsic one that shows you where you’re coming up short. Mercury’s move into Pisces today encourages this process, and asks you to use your mind to help you get what (or who) you want.

Scorpio: October 23 - November 21

To be alive, often means to lose in some way, Scorpio. Missed opportunities, possibilities, feelings we can never get back - are all part of the great equation when you come to think about it. This week, you may feel a sense of loss in order to feel a sense of renewal. It’s the power we each yield, to make a situation better or worse than how we found it. For you, as Mercury enters Pisces, your sister sign, in your romantic 5th house, I feel this is very much about your partnerships/friendships. To be bold in your words and actions requires a little bit of intelligence and wit. It’s evident that life is guiding you to somewhere (or someone) you need.

Sagittarius: November 22 - December 21

You correct yourself mid-course, Sagittarius - but is it enough to alter the ending? The Moon’s nodes suggest it’s time to empower and let go of old hurts and regrets. Especially the South Node, who rules over karma, past experience and personal quest. Being that the South Node has been in your sign for some time now, it’s evident your involvement is paramount in the progress of your life. No one else can resolve things for you, even though throughout Pisces season, that’s very much what you’d like. Family dramas can plague you, as well as feelings of uncertainty, apprehension and angst. Mercury joins the 4 planets in Pisces today, shifting in your 4th house of home. Something has to be resolved, and it has to be done now otherwise you risk losing it forever.

Capricorn: December 22 - January 19

It can be so hard to forget certain memories, especially the ones that tear you apart most, Capricorn. But they do serve a purpose, they show us how far we’ve travelled since that time. This week’s energy is fidgety, or perhaps you’ve got something on your mind. With Mercury now in Pisces, joining the Sun, Venus and Neptune - you find yourself in a very peculiar position. The watery mood is sentimental and sympathetic, and you’re trying to get the wheels moving in motion. For some reason, you may feel stuck - or not ready. But, the roadblocks are temporary, the heart will help navigate the way.

Aquarius: January 20 - February 18

It’s time to make a new reference card for someone, Aquarius. Not all people remain the same. Take yourself for instance, in this lifetime, you’ve already been a 100 different individuals - and without much warning, you can alter and change again. That’s the beauty of your sign, and the charm of Pisces season too. With Mercury now entering Pisces, where it will remain until early April, you are given a chance to freely rebel. A personal desire for purpose and truth bring forward exploration of an emotional kind, so don’t downplay how you really feel. This is all character building, even when it feels uncomfortable.

Pisces: February 19 - March 20

The dichotomy before you may feel rather hard to place, Pisces. But reality isn’t your forte, so no one is better placed than you in trying to decipher what exactly is going on beneath the surface. In such thick Pisces weather it can be hard to see fiction from truth - and yet, everything feels like it connects to another. There is a big sense of familiarity in your everyday life now, even in your dreams. And the karma of it all, will repeat until you’re ready to walk through fire. The Sun, Venus, Neptune and today, Mercury in your sign open up the world around you. Observations you note are real, and on a mental level, you’re switched on to the cosmic energies present. You don’t need to hold everything in - this is a time where answers can be given, freely and finally.
