This Week's Astrology

Despite the fact Mercury has stationed direct, we still find ourselves in a right jumble. This is because we still have the effects of Mercury’s post shadow until March 13th - all retrogrades have a ‘shadow’ period, and you can think of it as a cooling down phase. It’s there for a specific purpose, to help us come to terms with what just happened - the why's and how's. Everything is a process, and much like the rules of Mercury retrograde, it is wisest not to begin anything new in this time - instead look for halfway points in which you can meet others. This week starts off rather sweetly, with a Cancer Moon harmonising to the Pisces Sun. The depths Pisces season can grow into become more tumultuous yet much more gratifying in the light of the Cancerian Moon - because Cancer rules the Moon, it carves out it’s own special, symbolic situation. Mostly in the realm of family, friendship, love and nurturing - we feel familiar, nostalgic, perhaps even acutely aware.

These ‘lovey-dovey’ feelings of excess are furthered when Venus enters Pisces on the 25th - and everything around us is about the embrace. Venus is soulful in Pisces, but it can also be demanding. Each sign also has its shadow side - it’s ego. In Pisces, we will need to be careful of overly idealistic behaviours - high expectations and victim mentalities. On the 27th, the month draws to a close with a Virgo Full Moon - Pisces opposite sign on the astrological wheel. The Virgo/Pisces axis is an interesting one, as they express in such opposing ways, yet combined, often mirror two sides of the same coin. When looked at closely, you notice that both signs are self-sacrificing, extremely giving and naturally cautious. They rule the 6th and 12th houses, both extremely valuable - focusing on service AND surrender. The 12th house is Pisces natural domain - and therefore, Pisces at once, lose and find themselves here.

In the light of the functional Virgin Moon then, we can expect to feel emotional, sensitive, awkward or even misunderstood. This can be a difficult Moon to surrender to, because responsibilities can appear overwhelming - it’s very much about our own personal polarities = work versus pleasure. We will all have to adapt, but I feel that the mutable signs - Pisces, Virgo, Gemini and Sagittarius will truly feel the sting of this transit most. The aspects on this Moon engage with Saturn and Uranus, creating some adjustment or imbalance - whatever it is, you will cross the bridge when you get to it. It’s certainly a spellbinding week, let the revelations come as you roam through your heart.

“The smiles of ancient souls
That bless this,
Our space to live and learn
And urge us on to shine again…”

May your cup runneth over..

With love,

Aries: March 21 - April 19

You’re in the process of moving through certain emotions, Aries. It's a long and arduous journey but in some sense you’re unafraid, you know it’s time. The Cancer Moon for the next two evenings leaves you concerned about connection, and themes of love and intimacy are strong. Business matters overflow to the top, as you attempt to set up meetings or resolve an ongoing problem. The Virgo Moon on the 27th/28th gives you a chance to take a new direction however, so use it as a moment of opportunity in your career. The message is to stay centred and persevere - even while you feel emotional toward other areas of your life. The unpredictability of February decreases throughout March, so be practical in your expectations and problems will solve themselves.

Taurus: April 20 - May 20

Everything has felt karmic throughout February, Taurus. What you chose, how you responded, where you traversed - ultimately has led you to where you are right now. The energies of this week are developing rather slowly, so you may not see the extent of a personal situation until the weekend, when the Virgo Full Moon rises. Being an earth sign, this polarity between the Pisces Sun and Virgo Moon can actually help repair any relationship issues you may have going on. Try not to over exaggerate if you are faced with an emotional hiccup - nothing lasts forever. As Venus moves into Pisces on the 25th, you can count on a refreshing shift in terms of partnership. The Cancer Moon tonight sits in your 2nd house of finances, reminding you to plan, organise and sort out any debts/loans.

Gemini: May 21 - June 20

Your heart guides you, Gemini. And for such a cerebral sign, you sure do know when it’s time to listen to your intuition. Pisces season lets you admire and adore, and there’s a few people on the list you’d like to focus on. The Cancer Moon today keeps you productive, as you assist others with clarity and confidence. There is a natural progression happening in your career but everywhere else you feel the routine of ‘life’ taking over. Financial worries may trigger something inside of you, as the opinion of others leaves you vulnerable. Be prepared for any surprise changes that are stimulated by the Saturn/Uranus influence on the Virgo Full Moon this weekend, the potential move into new territory can feel uncertain now, but there’s some serious merit to it.

Cancer: June 21 - July 22

Previous experience can come in handy, Cancer. Especially as the Moon transits your sign today and tomorrow, digging up old emotions and feelings. Naturally, you will seek privacy, silence and contemplation - slowly resolving some of the matters in your heart the retrograde brought up. With no planets in retrograde motion until April, you’re keen to build your strength and genuinely work on a project that means so much to you. Pisces season can prove comforting for you, as you know how to surrender to it’s deep, dark water - and this theme is furthered by Venus entering Pisces on the 25th, helping you creep out of your shell. The beginning of the week then is perfect for rest and reflection, and you will need it as the Virgo Full Moon on the 27th attempts to confuse your relationship dynamics and throw you off centre.

Leo: July 23 - August 22

You’re tying up loose ends, Leo. The Cancer Moon in your 12th house today and tomorrow continues the ongoing ‘silver lining’ theme. You recognise that throughout the discord of February, there was a meaning behind it all, a very symbolic one. The upcoming Virgo Full Moon tends to the service orientated mood you have within business and collaboration, although there may be an amount left owing. Now is a good time to chase up any debts or loans, as the planets move in direct motion until April. Venus enters Pisces on the 25th and helps solve any problems when it comes to intimacy or cooperation - all in all, your energy levels stabilise early on in Pisces season. You will notice that your efforts are more gentle, perhaps even inviting new love and friendship.

Virgo: August 23 - September 22

Interruptions are likely this week, Virgo. And you feel an increasing focus mounting on you personally, as the Full Moon in your sign etches closer and closer. In Pisces season, your opposite sign, it’s natural to feel like a fish out of water. The Full Moon occurring in your 1st house of reputation, image and personality can make all these subjects come under great scrutiny, as you attempt to *try* and please everyone. There can be some difficult choices to make in business, or where a number of people are concerned. You feel swamped by time, resources and commitments, but the need to be consistent controls most parts of you, so you don’t dwindle, instead you show up, and surprise even the most negative commentators. Although Mercury retrograde is technically behind us, you still have a few emotions the retrograde brought up, to contend with - whatever happens, keep a cool head.

Libra: September 23 - October 22

February has been a bit of a rewind, Libra. Naturally then, as March draws closer, you’re keen to experience new things for your own personal development. A steady flow of energy this week is thanks to the outer planets all moving in direct motion, and you continue to feel the desire for structure, stability and clarity. Even if a situation catches you off guard mid week, you still know how to emerge with a better grip on life than before. 2021 is a time for new vistas, and don’t you know it. That’s why the Virgo Full Moon on the 27th can help you change gears effortlessly - it’s time to bring something to completion. The earthy energy encourages you to surrender, as you crave familiarity and the healing that comes from deep within.

Scorpio: October 23 - November 21

Don’t engage in emotionally disruptive moments this week, Scorpio. Not after you managed to sail through the retrograde particularly unscathed! It’s time to focus on liberating yourself through love, partnership, friendship and the union of ‘two’. Throughout February, you made peace with your personal problems and in turn have strengthened an existing relationship or family dynamic. Pisces season brings unexpected opportunities, especially if you’re hoping for a favourable move. The Virgo Moon on the weekend can bring a situation into focus, where you’re reminded that assumptions aren’t always the right way to go. Don’t base the central theme of fear, otherwise you can miss the mark completely.

Sagittarius: November 22 - December 21

This week presents a tricky moment of ‘what if’, Sagittarius - and you’re not so sure you truly considered this feeling properly before. The Cancer Moon today and tomorrow carefully contemplates a union you find yourself attached too - and more than usual, you’re influenced by partnership, friendship, love and intimacy. Emotional dilemmas seem so constant, as if they’re part of the landscape, but in reality, February has just been an awkward month to make sense off. The influence of all the outer planets in direct motion will serve you well, but first you’ve got to get over the Virgo Moon hurdle on the weekend. Turn inward and acknowledge any pain and hurt before you get mixed up with other people, this will guide you to a better destination.

Capricorn: December 22 - January 19

Pisces season helps you express yourself, Capricorn. And so much of what you need to say stems from the previous years of hardship and anxiety - the build up has been momentous! Overall, you’re in a far different situation nowadays, but it can still feel as though people are just catching on to all the suffering you had to endure. 2019/2020 may have been particularly rough, but 2021 is a new moment in time altogether. Remember this in crucial moments this week, and you will attract far more positive experiences than you can imagine. The looming Virgo Full Moon focuses on emotional attachments, and you begin to see something in its entirety. The special attention on matters of the heart begins today with a Cancer Moon directing you toward your desires - nothing else.

Aquarius: January 20 - February 18

The small things mean most, Aquarius. For you, it’s easy to read between the lines, and this week, that is exactly what you will do. With the Sun's move signs into Pisces and birthday season finished for another year, you take a moment to appreciate the hardships of February and the rare alignment (Saturn-Uranus) that took place all while it was your time to shine. With both Jupiter and Saturn in your 1st house, it’s natural to feel like everything is happening to you, and no one else. And, in some way, there is truth to that, because you are the star of the show for this next decade. With Mercury retrograde behind you, a transition period begins, where you prepare to move on from losses. The volatile energy of the beginning of the year softens throughout March, and it's furthered by Venus entering Pisces on the 25th. Loving friendships are highlighted, as are the supportive people in your life. Even the Virgo Moon on the 27th doesn’t discourage you from tender emotions - with less urge to push people away, you can invite more of the good stuff in your life.

Pisces: February 19 - March 20

Taking time for yourself is nourishing in a supremely symbolic way, Pisces. The start of birthday season has you feeling emotional about another year, all that’s been and all that’s forgotten. Enlightenment comes from knowing the road ahead, but in this strange time, there’s no way to familiarise yourself - as everything is new. This in fact, is truly special, because it leaves so much for wonder, and that is exactly what 2021 hopes to invoke. A Cancer Moon opens the week by spending time in your 5th house of playful romance, you are enriched by your love life - or maybe a friend comes to save the day. Either way, you don’t feel alone and it shows in your demeanour and approach. The Virgo Full Moon on the weekend opposes you, putting a standstill to a long term goal. Use the correct tools and this will all look like a minor delay in a few weeks time.
