We can’t tiptoe into this juncture - we have to leap - knowing full well that in time, when the net is ready, it will appear. In the same time-frame, Venus and Jupiter holding hands in Pisces, for the last few moments, brings spiritual understanding and exuberance. Uranus is conjunct this Eclipse/Sun, and of course, many of us are aware that Uranus still has 4 more years to traverse through Taurus - making good on its promise to shock and surprise. It wakes us up from the deep slumber we’ve been trudging along in - reminding us that we’re here for a purpose - to live IN purpose. May is an interesting month to navigate - with so much going on externally mirroring our internal thoughts and feelings. We snap out of the auto-pilot mood we’ve been cruising in, as someone or something challenges us to step up and shape up. On the 3rd, Venus enters Aries, turning us into pillars of conviction and strength. In Aries, love tends to be fixated on one direction, it can be harder to acknowledge and appreciate what we don’t have much interest in (everyone but our lover). The astrological weather this month is also very cardinal in energy - as we have Jupiter moving into Aries on the 10th, followed by Mars in its home sign on the 24th. Chiron is already here, in Aries, where it stays until 2026. Let’s dig deeper - On the 10th, Mercury will station retrograde in Gemini (its ruling planet), until early June. The social nature of Gemini in Mercury will make this retrograde very communicative, very witty - great for back and forth banter. Conversations will circulate, we will hear names of people, gossip will be rife.
On that same day, Jupiter will leave Pisces, where it has enjoyed very much being since 2021. Jupiter entering Aries is a whole other kettle of fish - for one; it activates the cardinal fire energy that leads and prospers - especially in circumstances of adversity. Two; it will circle back in December 2022 until May 2023 (so this is just the beginning for Aries), after going back into Pisces - on October 28th. Aries energy is confident, forceful and impatient and because Jupiter represents luck and good fortune, the way this will pan out is through countless opportunities, impulsive tendencies in love and a thirst for adventure/travel. We can reconnect with our playful side, our childish innocence. Dates surrounding the 10-16th are ones to keep an eye on then - as mid-month seems to be peak energy for heavy hitting transits that affect our sleep, our mental stability and overall wellbeing. We can feel easily exhausted, complaining of fatigue or sickness like cold/flu because we are so drained.
This brings me to the 16th, a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio which opposes the Sun in Taurus. Many of us will feel almost as if we’re hungover by the time this major lunation rolls around. This is nothing new, and long term astrological studies have demonstrated that a dip in energy during a Full Moon is often because we are trying to process all the new information coming in. Scorpio is emotion and desire, affecting us with its intuitive, super-charged gut reactions to the circumstances that play out around us. Pluto, Scorpio’s ruler is retrograde at this time, recreating problematic behaviours under the light of this Full Moon. We will delve deep into why we feel the way we do - what possesses us to continue feeling that certain way and why we won’t give it up, despite ‘knowing’ better. Sometimes we can be transfixed with a person or a memory, and we replay it again and again, until the version we know to be true, is completely different to the actual truth of what occurred.
